Penned by former Land Rover designer Phil Simmons, the third iteration H6 was designed to be “unapologetically futuristic with [its] ‘sci-fi-esc’ design ushering in a new generation of design”. According to the Chinese manufacturer, the new H6’s streamlined waistline mimics an archer’s bow string, “poised and ready to fire”. Adding to its purposeful design language, the new H6 features “striking” LED headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The new H6 is available with seven exterior and four interior colour options. For the exterior, the Haval can be had with the choice of Ayers grey, Red, Hamilton white, Messiah brown, green, Atlantis blue and black. In addition to black, the interior can be had with the choice of three two-tone colour options: black and brown, black and grey, and black and red.
The interior aesthetic, Haval says, is maintained through Oriental styling. All models feature a 12,3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10,25-inch driver’s display. Super Luxury models, meanwhile, gain a full-colour head-up display and wireless smartphone charging bay. Convenience and safety features include, among others, a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition, Haval’s latest generation electronic stability control, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring system.
One engine option is employed across the range: a 2,0-litre turbocharged petrol. The four-cylinder engine produces 150 kW from 6 000 to 6 300 r/min and 320 N.m from 1 500 to 4 000 r/min. Power is sent to either the front or all four wheels via Haval’s second-generation seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
As standard, the four-strong local line-up of the new Haval H6 ships standard with a five-year/60 000 km service plan and five-year/100 000 km warranty.
