Alpina has unveiled the D4 S Gran Coupé, a diesel-powered offering created for “sportive” drivers looking for a “special” Gran Turismo driving experience.
Characterised by an “expressive” identity, the firm’s latest offering sports Alpina front and rear spoilers. The company says these items “accentuate” the car’s athletic appearance. The D4 S Gran Coupé sits on the company’s Classic 20-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels.
Based on BMW’s hottest oil-burning 4 Series Gran Coupé, this model is equipped with a 3.0-litre inline-six engine. The twin-turbocharged diesel unit is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power and torque are rated at 261 kW and 730 Nm, available from 4 000 and 1 750 r/min, respectively.
“It combines emotional driving dynamics with comfortable touring”
The outputs allow for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h. Fuel consumption is a claimed 6.9 L/100 km.
The firm says the D4 S Gran Coupé combines emotional driving dynamics with comfortable touring. The four-door coupé is fitted with Alpina Sport Suspension.
The diesel-powered Alpina is equipped with items such as steering wheel heating and BMW’s “latest” assistance systems. The familiar interior further features a digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. There’s also an array of “Alpina” badges.
As a reminder, earlier this year, BMW acquired the Alpina brand, with the German automaker saying, “The BMW Group is also driven by this same passion for cars that capture the imagination. That is why we are now embarking on a new chapter in our long-standing partnership [with Alpina].”
