Bentley has revealed new details about the recently-teased Batur.

Scheduled to make its global premiere on 21 August 2022 at the Monterey Car Week, the British marque says the “most extraordinary” grand tourer’s W12 engine will have more power and torque than ever “for extraordinary performance”. Bentley says the power of the W12 will be matched by its “most advanced” chassis system.

“The Batur encapsulates ultimate co-creation and personalisation opportunities”

Coach-built by Mulliner, the launch of the Batur will signify a new design language for the Crew-based luxury brand, with the new design DNA — classic features reinterpreted into fresh, cleaner lines — shaping the future range of Bentley’s battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). The company says the first of its BEV models will launch in 2025.

According to the firm, “The Batur encapsulates ultimate co-creation and personalisation opportunities for its clients.” The customer can specify the colour and finish of every surface and component. Material options include sustainable natural fibre composites, “low-CO2” leather and 3D-printed 18-carat gold.
