In terms of size, the i3 measures 4 872 mm nose to tail and 1 481 mm in height. Compared to its internal-combustion stablemates, the i3 is 163 mm longer. However, compared with the M340i xDrive, the electrically powered sedan measures 159 mm longer bow to stern.
In terms of height, the i3 is 39 taller than, for example, the 320i and 41 mm taller than the M340i xDrive. Measuring 2 955 mm between the fore and aft axle, the i3’s wheelbase is 115 mm longer than the petrol- and diesel-powered 3 Series’.
Equipped with batteries, the i3 tips the scales at a claimed kerb weight of 2 029 kg, which is 284 kg more than the M340i xDrive and around 400 kg more than the entry-level and mid-tier 3 Series’. Power output is rated at 250 kW, while top speed comes in at a claimed 180 km/h.
