Chery SA has announced it has opened the doors to its brand-new flagship dealership in Northcliff, Gauteng, with the local arm of the Chinese marque saying it is one of the largest and most advanced of its kind.

“The official opening of Chery Northcliff follows shortly after our first birthday in South Africa. Its size and technological complexity are a testament to how serious Chery takes the South African market and our intention to offer customers the best possible service,” said Tony Liu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery South Africa.

According to the automaker, the new dealership can retail between 40 and 50 new vehicles monthly. In addition, the firm says that with the upcoming local introduction of its OMODA brand in April 2023, it will also have a dedicated space and team to support OMODA sales.

“[This] is the next step in this process where Chery sets the standard for world-class customer service”

Chery SA also says the Northcliff-based dealership has one of the largest and best-equipped service centres in the industry, and it is already well-equipped to service future Chery models with electric and alternative powertrains. “Chery Northcliff’s 1 400 m2 workshop can comfortably service 15 vehicles or more per day,” said the manufacturer. “A team of highly-trained diagnostic technicians is on site for more complex repairs and services.” The service centre also features a dedicated vehicle repair and valet section for customers to “conveniently” have small scratches, dents and minor imperfections repaired.

“Chery Northcliff is the next step in this process where Chery sets the standard for world-class customer service, both when purchasing a vehicle and when maintaining it for the many years thereafter,” said Jay Jay Botes, National Sales Manager for Chery in South Africa.

However, this won’t be the last brand-new Chery dealership locally. The firm has also announced the introduction of Cape Town- and Durban-based flagship showrooms to its current 76-strong dealership network soon.
