Alfa Romeo South Africa has confirmed a number of Giulia GTAms have already been ordered by local Alfa Romeo aficionados, with five (of the 500) of the Italian firm’s most hardcore sedan heading to our shores.

2.9-litre V6 produces 397 kW.

Priced at R4 million for the Giulia GTA and R4.3 million for the GTAm variant, Alfa Romeo says a specific sales process is followed to ensure future owners a “unique” buying experience. In addition, a full Bell racing set is included in the asking price of the track-focused models.

Bucket seats, replete with racing harnesses.

Based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio, the GTA and GTAm features myriad weight-saving items, a models-specific carbon-fibre bodykit and “refined” aerodynamics. A first for a production sedan, these models feature 20-inch centre-locking wheels.

As a reminder, for these models, the 2.9-litre V6 motor has been uprated to 397 kW. This, Alfa Romeo says, allows for a claimed zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds.
