Marking the wedding of son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law Nicola, David Beckham has presented the couple with an all-electric Jaguar XK140 Open Two Seater (OTS) by Lunaz.

The reimagined, electrified classic is a bespoke commission by the former football star. The XK140 OTS was “entirely” built by Lunaz in Silverstone, England. “It is the product of thousands of hours of work from its 120-strong team of craftspeople, designers and electric-vehicle (EV) technicians,” said the firm.

The 1954 XK140 seen here is dressed in light blue. According to Lunaz, each customer is allowed to name their unique colour. However, at Beckham’s request, the official name for this hue will remain confidential. The open-top EV has been equipped with an upgraded braking system, suspension and steering.

The fully restored and upcycled interior is finished in light cream, “offering contemporary expression to the car’s classic aesthetic”. The modern tech found inside has been hidden. The dials and switches reflect the original Jaguar design but provide battery-level information and operate contemporary functions.

“In creating this beautiful, electrified Jaguar XK140, we are honoured to bridge the gap between David Beckham’s professional life, where he is an investor in Lunaz and his family life. This remarkable car is the perfect gift to his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law Nicola on their wedding day. In every respect, this extraordinary electric classic car by Lunaz symbolises a bright, positive future,” said David Lorenz, founder and CEO of Lunaz.
