Volkswagen South Africa has released local pricing and specification for the refreshed Polo line-up, which is scheduled to arrive on SA shores during the first quarter of 2022. See pricing below…

Priced from R311 800, the revised range is, of course, spearheaded by the GTI-badged hot hatch variant. Initially, a trio of models will be on offer. These are the entry-level variant, the “Life” model and, as mentioned, the GTI.
From the outside, the facelifted models sport, ahem, “sportier” fore and aft bumpers. Standard across the range, the fore and aft lamps come with LED tech. An LED light strip extends towards the VW badge. The Polo GTI, however, gains VW’s IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlamps.

The base model features a new multifunction steering wheel and touch-enabled infotainment display, incorporating App-Connect. Adopting VW’s new naming convention, the 70 kW, manual Polo Life derivative is now offered with a quartet of additional features. These include touchscreen infotainment, for and aft park distance control, electric folding mirrors, and lumbar support for the front seats.
The 85 kW, DSG-equipped Polo Life adds a leather-wrapped tiller, complete with paddle shifters. This model also comes available with 15-inch Essex alloy wheels.

R-Line variants are distinguished with more striking bumpers and 16-inch Valencia alloys. VW’s Composition Media infotainment system is standard, as is wireless smartphone charging and dual-zone climate control.
Sited at the top of the range, the Polo GTI further gains Dynamic Chassis Control, dynamic front cornering lights. Autonomous emergency braking is now standard. The GTI rides on a set of 17-inch Milton Keynes alloy wheels.

As standard, all models ship with a three-year/45 000 km EasyDrive service plan. A warranty of similar distance and 120 000 km is included in the asking price.
