Ford has whipped the wraps off the Bronco Everglades, a special-edition variant engineered for off-roaders looking to go further off the grid and take on extreme adventures with confidence.
“Bronco customers like to explore new places, but some want to go even further off the trail than others,” said Jolanta Coffey, Bronco chief engineer. “Everglades is specially equipped to enable these customers to tackle even more challenging terrains and trails – and with the front bumper-mounted winch, they can help others out of trouble while they’re at it.”
The Bronco Everglades introduces a “class-exclusive” snorkel, designed by the Blue Oval brand for optimised performance in dust, snow and water. The snorkel’s design comprises a duo of easy-to-swap plates, allowing the inlet to change direction based on weather conditions.
For the Bronco Everglades, the US firm has added a heavy-duty modular front bumper. Designed by Ford Performance, the latter item is fitted with a ZEON 10-S WARN winch, complete with a 30 metres-long synthetic line. The winch can pull up to 4 536 kg. As standard, the Everglades-badged derivative is equipped with a protective safari bar, rock rails and steel bash plates.
The special-edition model’s fore and aft axles, transfer case and transmission feature raised vents for improves water fording. The Bronco Everglades boast a wading depth of 925 mm.
The available Sasquatch package includes 17-inch ‘Carbonized Gray’ alloy wheels, wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain rubber. Additional items include rock rails for the lower sills, a moulded hard-top and a roof rack with crossbars.
