Ford South Africa has announced that the Mustang California is headed to our shores, with the local arm of the Blue Oval brand confirming that only 100 units of this special edition will arrive here.
“Built for enthusiasts”, the California Special will be available in only Fastback guise and powered by Ford’s familiar 5.0-litre V8. The normally aspirated unit produces 330 kW, which is exclusively sent to the rear axle via the firm’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The special-edition Mustang comes with unique badging and detailing, “colour shift” decals and 19-inch alloy wheels. Ford says the cabin was designed to help liberate all the fun of the open road. The cabin is fitted with bespoke “California Special” detailing for “exclusive” appeal.

Those ideals resonate just as strongly with driving enthusiasts and Mustang fans in South Africa.
