Ford South Africa has revealed pricing for the Ranger Raptor Special Edition. Spearheading the Blue Oval brand’s local bakkie line-up, the flagship Ranger Raptor will be available in only limited numbers as to “ensure exclusivity”. See pricing below…
As a reminder, the Ranger Raptor Special Edition is distinguished by several model-specific exterior and interior elements. On the outside, the limited-edition double cab features matte black racing stripes, which are applied to the bonnet, roof, lower sides of the body, rear wings, and tailgate to “emphasise the bakkie’s high-performance character”.
Complementing the racing stripes’ contrasting red edging, the front tow hooks are finished in a similar hue. Matte black finishes have further been applied to the grille, fore and aft bumpers, and flared wheelarches. As standard, the limited-edition Ranger Raptor features a lockable Mountain Top roller shutter. Four colour options are on offer: Arctic White, Conquer Grey metallic, Shadow Black metallic, and Ford Performance Blue metallic (seen here).
The cabin, meanwhile, red contrast stitching has been applied to the multifunction steering wheel to give this Ranger Raptor “en even sportier, bespoke feel”. A Ranger Raptor Special Edition-specific instrument panel is included.
The Ranger Raptor Special Edition is, like the standard model, equipped with Ford’s 2,0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder oil-burner, which is coupled to the firm’s 10-speed automatic transmission. The diesel unit produces 157 kW and 500 N.m of torque.
The special edition Ranger Raptor is priced at R965 300, making the limited-edition model R45 000 more expensive than the standard derivative. A six-year/90 000 km service plan and four-year/120 000 km warranty are included in the asking price.
