Ford Performance Parts has unwrapped a custom Overlanding concept package for the Ranger at this year’s SEMA Show.
“Ford customers love to personalise the performance and appearance of their vehicles, especially [the] Mustang, Bronco and Ranger,” said Mark Wilson, Ford North America Vehicle Personalisation manager. “The Ford Performance parts packages we’re debuting combine the latest design trends with aftermarket accessories engineered to work with these vehicles out of the box.”
Developed in response to customer feedback, the packages fall into four categories: aesthetic parts, “unique” vehicle graphics, street performance and off-road capability. And it’s the latter that pertains to the Blue Oval brand’s midsize bakkie.
Targeting the overlanding space, the Ranger Ford Performance Off-Road concept package is available for the four-wheel-drive Ranger XLT, which we sampled in 2022, and Lariat models. According to Ford, this package “elevates” the Ranger’s capability.
So, what does the kit include? For starters, a ARB overland suspension set-up. New ARB fore and aft bumpers, replete with additional recovery points, are also available. Customers also have the option of specifying an onboard air compressor, SOLIS lights, and a refrigerator/freezer.
