Jaguar South Africa has announced that the recently unveiled F-Pace SVR 1988 Edition has been penned to arrive on local shores in limited numbers. Limited to only 394 examples (one for each lap completed by the winning Jaguar at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988) worldwide, only five units have been set aside for the SA market. Pricing will be announced closer to its arrival.

F-Pace SVR 1988 Edition

This limited edition F-Pace SVR was inspired by Jaguar’s rich racing heritage. The special edition’s “emotive” specification includes “specially-formulated” Midnight Amethyst Gloss exterior paint and 22-inch Champagne Gold Satin forged alloy wheels. “Edition 1988” plaques can be found on the outside.

Contrasting with the body hue, several exterior elements have been finished in Sunset Gold Satin, a colour carried over to the interior. The cabin is wrapped in leather and features an array of open-pore carbon-fibre trim. The Edition 1988 is also equipped with (heated and cooled) performance seats.

As a reminder, the SVR-badged model is endowed with the company’s 5.0-litre V8 engine. The supercharged unit produces 405 kW for a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.0 seconds and a maximum speed of 286 km/h.

“The Jaguar F-Pace SVR has established itself as a highly characterful and rewarding high-performance car,” said Mark Turner, commercial director of Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) at Jaguar.

“Pairing these qualities with a level of SV Bespoke personalisation and exclusivity never offered before on F-Pace makes the Edition 1988 an even more captivating proposition. With strictly limited availability, we’re confident this will quickly become the most sought-after F-Pace SVR yet,” Turner added.
