A first for the Jeep brand, the company has added vibrant High Velocity yellow paintwork to the Gladiator’s exterior colour palette. According to the firm, “The first yellow to be available for the Gladiator, High Velocity is a high-energy, high-impact hue that is authentic and not afraid to stand out.”
“Since the Jeep Gladiator arrived for the 2020 model year, customisation has been a huge part of its identity,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep North America. “In response to customer requests, High Velocity is the latest example of another bold shade that strengthens the enthusiastic personality of our loyal and avid Jeep community.”
However, it’s worth noting that this hue — priced at $395 (R6 417.03) — is available only for the North American market. Locally, Jeep’s double-cab bakkie is available with eight exterior colour options. These include Bright White, Black, Granite Crystal, Sting Grey, Snazzberry, Sarge Green, Hydro Blue, and Firecracker Red (arguably the most vibrant hue offered in South Africa).
As a reminder, the Gladiator is powered by the company’s “proven” 3.6-litre V6 unit. The ‘Pentastar’ motor produces 206 kW and 347 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
