We’ve unearthed local pricing for the Urus Performante, the pinnacle model in Lamborghini’s SUV line-up. Thanks to the folks over at duoporta, we can confirm that the most-focused Urus is priced from R4 795 000.
As a reminder, for the Urus Performante, the Raging Bull brand has increased the outputs of the standard model’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 by 12 kW to a devilish 666 CV … or 490 kW! Torque is rated at 850 Nm (available from 2 300 r/min to 4 500 r/min). (A lightweight titanium Akrapovič sports exhaust system provides the soundtrack.)
Lamborghini says this allows its new apex SUV to sprint to the three-figure marker from a standstill in 3.3 seconds, a figure that matches the claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of the world’s most powerful luxury SUV, the Aston Martin DBX707 (read our feature of the top 10 most powerful SUVs in SA here). Applying the brakes at the 100 km/h marker, the Urus Performante is brought to a halt in 32.9 metres.
In addition, for the Performante, Lamborghini has also recalibrated the front-wheel steering and re-engineered the driving modes. The firm says the driver can select the “perfect” set-up for every environment. And the company does mean “every environment”… In addition to Strada, Sport, and Corsa driver’s settings, the Urus Performante offers an off-road mode, Rally.
“The Urus Performante takes to the road as a lightweight, honed athlete. Its muscular stance, distinctive design, V8 twin-turbo powerplant and lightweight sports exhaust establish it through sight, sound and experience as the most exciting contender on every road, track and loose surface. This is a super sports car driver’s SUV,” said Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer at Automobili Lamborghini.
