Maserati has unveiled the MC20 Fuoriserie Edition, a tailor-made version of the Italian luxury automaker’s mid-engined sports car designed for and in collaboration with David Beckham.
The project was part of the Trident brand’s Fuoriserie customisation programme, which allows customers to create bespoke Maseratis. Inspired by the “magic city of Miami”, the MC20 seen here expresses David Beckham’s – former British soccer star and current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF soccer club – personality. “[It is] a love letter for the magic city of Miami,” said the Trident brand.
“It has been incredible to collaborate with Maserati to create this one-off car”
The MC20 Fuoriserie Edition is dressed in gloss black. Contrasting with the latter hue, the black Trident logos are finished in opaque. ‘Round back, the Maserati lettering is also opaque. The MC20 badge on the door and Brembo brake callipers are pastel pink.
Said Beckham, “I have always been a car enthusiast, so to be part of designing and creating my MC20 through the Fuoriserie customisation programme has been an amazing experience. Cars are about individual taste whether it’s the model, colour or small personal details on the inside.
“It has been incredible to collaborate with the Maserati team and designers to create this one-off car that is inspired by my second home, Miami and my football club there. It is a joy to be behind the wheel.”
Klaus Busse, head of Maserati Design, commented: “As car designers, our mission is to offer a holistic experience. This value guides our Brand’s stylistic research, making each Maserati uniquely recognisable.
“Maserati Fuoriserie is a blank canvas on which clients can unleash their creativity”
“Our customisation programme is another example of our brand’s goal to create singular experiences for our customers: Maserati Fuoriserie is a blank canvas, on which Maserati clients can write their own stories and unleash their creativity, making their dreams come true.”
As a reminder, the Maserati MC20’s 3.0-litre V6 petrol motor is endowed with 463 kW and 730 N.m of torque. According to the Modena-based manufacturer, this is enough to ensure a zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of 2.88 seconds and a top speed of “over” 326 km/h.
