With the reveal of the updated A-Class, Mercedes-AMG has announced the A45 S Street Style Edition, a “very special” version of the German marque’s hyper hatchback available for a limited time.

But first, before we get to the Street Style Edition, what updates have been handed to Affalterbach’s line-up of hot hatchbacks and saloons and the standard hyper hatchback? For starters, the refreshed models sport revised front headlamps. The Three-pointed Star badge found on the nose has been ditched for an emblem adorning AMG’s coat of arms. The front apron has also been revised. New wheel designs are on offer.

“The AMG Street Style Edition impresses with extrovert and exclusive equipment elements”

The interior features an AMG Performance steering wheel, including steering wheel-mounted AMG buttons. These items allow the driver to control AMG-specific features such as the three-stage ESP set-up and AMG Dynamics. The AMG-specific seats are now available in a “trendy” sage grey colour. Benz’s latest MBUX system is also present.

Now, onto the A45 S Street Style Edition. The German marque says, “The AMG Street Style Edition impresses with extrovert and exclusive equipment elements.” The Street Style Edition features mountain grey magno base paint and edition-specific foiling with a colour gradient in black/anthracite matte. Fluorescent orange accents are present. Merc says these items emphasise the elements of the Aerodynamics Package. This model rides on newly designed 19-inch matte black wheels. The brake callipers are finished in red.

As a reminder, the A45 S is powered by Affalterbach’s 310 kW/500 Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Power and torque are sent to all four corners. Benz claims the hyper hatch sprints to the three-figure marker from a standstill in 3.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 270 km/h.
