Available in only 350 4Matic guise, Mercedes-Benz South Africa has announced pricing and spec for the EQB.
Priced from R1 374 500, the all-wheel-drive EQB is equipped with a 69.7 kWh battery, which is linked to a duo of electric motors, each sited on the fore and aft axle. Total power and torque output are rated at 215 kW and 520 Nm. Benz claims the seven-seater electric SUV sprints to the three-figure marker from a standstill in 6.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 160 km/h. Mercedes claims the EQB 350 4Matic has an electric range of between 395 and 423 km.
The EQB measures 4 684 mm bow to stern, 1 834 mm in width and 1 701 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2 829 mm. Mercedes claims the EQB 350 4Matic tips the scales at 2 175 kg.
So, with which features does this model ship as standard? Similar to the EQA 250 (see pricing and spec here), its larger sibling is equipped with LED headlamps and the German automaker’s ‘Progressive’ exterior package. Benz’s MBUX infotainment system and a digital driver’s display are included. The seven-seater is also fitted with a reverse-view camera and active parking assist.
As with the EQA, the EQB is available with the company’s AMG Line package (R53 000). However, the seven-seater can also be had with an ‘Edition 1’ pack (seen here) at R126 800.
