“Uncompromisingly designed for maximum performance”, Porsche has finally whipped the covers off the new 911 GT3 RS!

Taking inspiration from motorsport, the 992-generation model features a “significant” boost in performance. The box-fresh GT3 RS’s 4.0-litre flat-six motor produces 386 kW.

“At 285 km/h, the total downforce is 860 kg”

The German marque says this has been “primarily” achieved by adding new camshafts with modified cam profiles. In addition, the single-throttle intake system and rigid valve drive have been derived from motorsport.

The “high-revving” atmospheric engine is coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The PDK gearbox features a shorter overall gear ratio than the standard GT3. Air intakes sited on the underbody ensure that the PDK can withstand extreme loads during frequent track use.

Porsche claims the new 911 GT3 RS accelerates to the three-figure marker from a standstill in 3.2 seconds. The top speed is rated at 296 km/h.

The new-generation GT3 RS’ aerodynamic systems are undoubtedly the most notable enhancements. Got wing? The large rear wing is continuously adjustable. The two-part item, combined with several other aerodynamic measures, provides 409 kg of downforce at 200 km/h. Porsche says this is three times more than the standard GT3 model. At 285 km/h, the total downforce is 860 kg. A drag-reduction system (DRS) is also present.

Stopping power is provided by aluminium monobloc fixed-calliper brakes. The six-piston front items measure 408 mm. The rear four-piston units measure 380 mm. An airbrake system further slows down the (1 450 kg) high-performance sports car.
