As a reminder, for the second Ranger to don the ‘Raptor’ badge, Ford has ditched the 2.0-litre, twin-turbocharged diesel motor for a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine producing 292 kW and 583 Nm. Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission directs power to a permanent four-wheel-drive system.

On the outside, LED matrix headlamps, replete with LED daytime-running lights, flank the Raptor’s model-specific front grille. The taillamps also feature LED tech. Continuing with the rear, a step is integrated into the bumper. Along the side, the flared wheel arches house 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain KO2 tyres measuring 285/70. New aluminium side steps are also present. Seven body hues, two of which are exclusive to the Raptor, are available. The exclusive paint options are Code Orange and Conquer Grey.

Inside, the Ranger Raptor features “jet fighter”-inspired fore and aft sports seats, replete with Code Orange detailing. This hue can also be found on the instrument panel accents. The multifunction steering wheel is trimmed in leather. Cast magnesium paddle shifters are also present. Technologies include a 12.4-inch digital driver’s display and a 12.0-inch portrait-orientated touchscreen infotainment system incorporating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Tunes are relayed through a 660 W, 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Wireless smartphone charging and an array of USB-A and -C ports can be found fore and aft. The rear items are complemented by a built-in 400 W inverter providing 240 V power to the load box in conjunction with a 12 V socket. A 360-degree surround-view camera system is also included in the package.
