The Ford Ranger Splash has made a comeback, with the Blue Oval brand revealing a reimagined version of the popular appearance package of the 1990s for the Ranger double-cab bakkie.
“Ranger customers love to personalise their trucks – more than 80 per cent customise their Ranger with an appearance package – and with Splash, we’re giving them something exclusive,” Ford Ranger marketing manager Chad Callandar says. “Every few months, we’re going to roll out another exterior colour for the Ranger that will be offered one time only and in very limited quantities.”
Ford offers customers the choice of two options, the Splash Package and Splash Limited Edition. The former style will be available for the duration of the 2022 model year and features orange and gloss black accents for the front grille, bumpers, mirror caps and wheelarches. Orange and black decals, and matte black 12-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior package.
For the interior, the special-edition Ford bakkie gains exclusive leather seats, complete with orange contrast stitching and unique carbon grain with tuxedo stripes, and orange contrast stitching for the multifunction steering wheel and gearlever.
Every few months, Ford will release series of “fresh” one-time-only hues, available in limited numbers, as part of the Splash Limited Edition package. This package will also feature matte black 18-inch alloy wheels and a unique combination of exterior and interior finishes. The first limited-edition model is the Snow Edition.
