Honda has confirmed when the next-generation Civic Type R will make its global premiere, with the Japanese automaker announcing that the new iteration of its hot hatch will be revealed on 21 July 2022.

As a reminder, in 2021, the company released teaser images of the box-fresh model. Although dressed in camouflage, those with a keen eye would have noticed that a few exterior elements are indeed noticeable, especially the new Type R’s large rear wing, which has been moved upwards on the rear hatch.

As with the previous-generation model, three exhaust outlets are found in the centre of a prominent rear diffuser. However, compared to the units found on its predecessor, the exhaust tip cited in the middle are larger in diameter than those on opposite sides.

The enlarged front grille is flanked by a pair of tapered headlamps, which incorporate LED daytime-running lights. The black alloy wheels house red Brembo brake callipers.
