The new Volkswagen Caddy has landed in South Africa, with the local arm of the German car manufacturer revealing pricing for the fifth-generation model. See pricing below…
The brand-new version will be launched in three levels of specification, each available in short- and long-wheelbase guises. Designed to suit customers’ distinct needs, these are Caddy and Maxi, Kombi and Maxi Kombi, and Cargo and Maxi Cargo. See specification here.
As a reminder, locally the new version of VW’s compact van will be available with the option of a 1.6-litre MPI engine and 2.0-litre TDI. The former, four-cylinder petrol motor produces 81 kW and 152 Nm of torque for a claimed fuel consumption figure of 7.3 L/100 km. The four-cylinder turbodiesel unit develops 81 kW and 300 N.m. According to VW, the 2.0 TDI sips only 5.5 L/100 km.
As standard, the Caddy and Caddy Maxi passenger variants ship with Volkswagen’s three-year or 120 000 km warranty. A two-year/unlimited km item comes with the Caddy Kombi, Maxi Kombi, Cargo and Maxi Cargo.
