BMW South Africa has quietly added pricing for the i5 M60 xDrive to its website. Here’s what you can expect from the first-ever all-electric 5 Series…

Priced from R2 190 000, the i50 M60 xDrive is the second model to join the German marque’s local 5 Series portfolio (following the new 520d; SA pricing for the diesel derivative here).

As a reminder, the i50 M60 xDrive, which spearheads the 5 Series range, is equipped with a dual electric motor arrangement, coupled with a 81.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In total, the set-up produces 442 kW and 795 Nm of torque. The Bavarian brand claims these figures allow the 2 305 kg emissions-free sedan to complete the obligatory 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is rated at 230 km/h. When fully charged, a range of up to 516 km is available. Power consumption is rated at 20.6 to 18.2 kWh/100 km.
