The Ferrari 296 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta) has arrived in South Africa, with the local arm of the Prancing Horse brand saying the V6 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar redefines the whole concept of fun behind the wheel.

Priced from R6 380 200, the two-seater Berlinetta is endowed with the same petrol-electric powertrain as its recently revealed drop-top sibling, the 296 GTS. The first Ferrari-badged supercar equipped with six cylinders (remember, the Dino didn’t don the iconic Prancing Horse badge) produces 610 kW and 740 Nm of torque for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of “over” 330 km/h.

The 296 GTB is, like the above-mentioned GTS-badged variant, available with Ferrari’s Assetto Fiorano package. This package includes lightweight features and aerodynamic modifications.
