Isuzu Motors South Africa has announced it has added a trio of “sporty” X-Rider Limited Edition models to its local D-Max bakkie line-up. See pricing below…
Limited to only 210 units, the X-Rider Limited Edition derivatives gain an array of model-specific exterior fitment to mark its exclusivity. These items include black 18-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails and a sportsbar, also finished in black. A roller shutter is standard. Reminding owners this is a special-edition bakkie, a numbered plaque is sited in the engine bay.
“We believe this is the best iteration of the D-Max bakkie to date”
“The X-Rider was first introduced to the range as a special-edition model. It was such a hit that we decided to make it a permanent part of the D-Max model range,” said Craig Uren, senior vice president of Isuzu sales and marketing. “The X-Rider Limited Edition is a celebration of the success we’ve had with the sixth-generation D-Max.”
“We believe this is the best iteration of the D-Max bakkie to date in terms of value, build quality, and appeal. The X-Rider Limited Edition is a vehicle that true Isuzu fans will be proud to own and keep as part of their garage,” Uren added.
As mentioned, a trio of limited-edition, 4×2 derivatives, endowed with the choice of either a 2.5-litre engine or 3.0-litre oil-burner, will be on offer. The first two variants are equipped with the Japanese car manufacturer’s 2.5-litre turbodiesel motor, producing 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is available with the option of a five-speed manual or automatic transmission with a similar number of cogs. The 3.0-litre turbodiesel produces 130 kW and 380 Nm, the latter on offer from a lowly 1 800 r/min to 2 800 r/min.
As standard, all variants ship with Isuzu’s five-year/90 000 km service plan.
