The Lexus UX 250h F Sport has touched down on South African shores, with the local arm of the Japanese car manufacturer revealing pricing and specification for the latest addition to its UX line-up.

Revised spindle grille flanked by tapered LED headlamps.

According to Lexus, the UX presents the automaker’s innovative luxury and safety in a package that combines bold design and an “ultra-efficient” powertrain. As a reminder, Lexus now only offers petrol-electric variants in South Africa.

Priced at R874 800, the third addition to the local UX range, the 250h F Sport is endowed with Lexus’ fourth-generation self-charging hybrid powertrain. The petrol-electric arrangement produces a combined output of 135 kW. This, the company claims, allows for a fuel consumption figure of 4.5 L/100 km.

LED light bar spans the rear.

So, what distinguishes the F Sport from its EX and SE siblings? The F Sport’s striking exterior features a “redefined” spindle grille, now with a mesh pattern; full-LED headlamps, complete with Lexus’ distinctive L-shaped LED daytime-running lights; and bolder fore and aft bumpers to “strengthen” its image.

Black front and rear mouldings and unique 18-inch alloy wheels further set this model apart. Nine exterior colour options are available. However, White Nova and Poseidon Blue are exclusive to the F Sport.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring are standard.

Inside, the F Sport derivative gains front sports seats; a leather-wrapped, model-specific multifunction steering wheel and a leather-trimmed gear lever. Adding to its sporty persona, the pedals are finished in aluminium. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, a pre-crash system, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and lane departure alert. A trio of interior colour options is on offer. These include Flare Red, white and F Black.

As standard, the UX line-up ships with a full maintenance plan and “best-in-class” warranty of seven years or 105 000 km.
