WHAT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE EVOQUE?
Exterior: the facelifted Evoque sports subtle cosmetic enhancements, such as a revised front grille and “super-slim” headlamp clusters, which house LED units and daytime-running lights. Interior: the most notable upgrade comes in the shape of a larger, curved, 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Pivo Pro set-up features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, accessed wirelessly or via cable. Several other items, such as wireless smartphone charging; a 360-degree, 3D camera system; the firm’s ClearSight Ground View and ClearSight Interior Rear View set-ups; and a panoramic roof are available (depending on the trim grade).
RANGE ROVER EVOQUE ENGINES
The facelifted line-up is available with two engine options, the familiar D200 oil-burner and P300e petrol-electric plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The former, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel unit churns out 147 kW and 430 Nm of torque, available from 3 750 r/min and 1 750 r/min, respectively. The company claims the diesel sips 5.8 L/100 km. The PHEV powertrain comprises a 1.5-litre turbo-triple and electric motor, the latter of which is coupled with a 14.9 kWh battery, which, when fully charged, provides an “expected” real-world electric-only range of 48 km, Land Rover says. The total power output is 227 kW, allowing for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.4 seconds. The fuel consumption is rated at 2.0 L/100 km.
