Volkswagen South Africa has released local pricing for the updated T-Roc. See pricing below…
Bookended by the recently launched Taigo (read our launch review here) and Tiguan in VW SA’s local T SUV line-up, the updated T-Roc line-up comprises three derivatives. Three trim lines and a duo of engine options are available.
The three-strong line-up starts with the Design 1.4 TSI variant. As its name suggests, this model is equipped with VW’s 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Coupled with an eight-speed self-shifter, the turbocharged unit produces 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque. VW says this unit sips 6.3 L/100 km.
Design level of specification is also available with a 2.0-litre petrol motor, the unit equipped with the range-topping R-Line variant. The turbo-four engine produces 140 kW and 320 Nm, sent to all four corners via VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. VW claims an average fuel consumption figure of 7.3 L/100 km.
Regarding standard equipment, Design models feature two-tone paintwork and chrome finishes for the exterior. LED head- and taillamps are present, too. Design derivatives ride on 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is fitted with a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, a multi-colour digital instrument cluster, VW’s Composition Media Radio system, and dual-zone climate control. VW’s Comfort Package is included.
The R-Line variant features sportier exterior styling. Regarding spec, on top of the features included with Design trim grade, the R-Line is fitted with VW’s Sports Comfort Package, Nappa leather seats, and VW’s Digital Cockpit Pro instrument binnacle and IQ.Drive package. This model is equipped with 19-inch Misano alloys.
As standard, all models ship with VW SA’s five-year/90 000 km service plan. A three-year/120 000 km warranty is included.
