The facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has landed in South Africa, with the local arm of the German marque revealing pricing for the updated model. See pricing below…
Priced from R671 700, the local line-up comprises a quartet of derivatives, available with the option of three trim levels – Life, Style and R-Line – and a duo of engine options. The latter includes a 1.4-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit and a 2.0-litre turbo-four. The latter engine option is available in two states of tune. All engines are coupled with DSG transmissions.
The 1.4-litre motor powering the Life 1.4 TSI and R-Line 1.4 TSI produces 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque for a claimed zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 9.2 seconds. Fuel consumption for these six-speed dual-clutch models is rated at 7.1 L/100 km.
The mid-tier Style 2.0 TSI’s turbocharged engine directs 132 kW and 320 Nm to VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system via a seven-speed DSG ‘box. This model, VW says, takes 9.2 seconds to reach the three-figure marker from a standstill. Fuel consumption is a claimed 8.9 L/100 km.
Interestingly, 162 kW/350 Nm, 2.0-litre powering the top-of-the-range R-Line 2.0 TSI sips 0.3 L/100 km less than its 2.0-litre Style stablemate, with a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 8.6 L/100 km. The claimed zero to 100 km/h acceleration time for this model is rated at “just” 6.5 seconds.
As standard, all models ship with VW South Africa’s three-year/120 000 km warranty and five-year/ 90 000km EasyDrive service Plan. A 12-year anti-corrosion warranty is included in the package.
