The DSG derivatives of Volkswagen’s bestselling hatchback – the now facelifted Polo – has touched down on South African shores, with the local arm of the Wolfsburg-based car manufacturer revealing pricing for the dual-clutch models. See pricing below…
As standard, the TSI 1.0 TSI 95 kW DSG variant is equipped with a digital dashboard display, fore and aft park distance control, electrically folding side mirrors, lumbar support for the driver and front passenger, and a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel. The latter item incorporates paddle shifters. This variant rides on 15-inch Essex alloy wheels.
Distinguishing itself from its stablemates, the R-Line derivative features, as its name would suggest, Volkswagen’s “R” design package. In addition to the standard items found on the Life version, the R-Line is equipped with a set of 16-inch Valencia alloy wheels. This model further gains the German firm’s Composition Media infotainment set-up, wireless smartphone charging and dual-zone climate control.
As standard, all models feature Volkswagen South Africa’s three years or 120 000 km warranty and three-year/45 000 km EasyDrive service plan. Available as an option, customers can extend the latter to a 10-year/300 000 km item.
