Following setting a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for SUVs with a time of 7 minutes 38,925 seconds, Porsche has finally unleashed its most performance-orientated Cayenne to date, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupé.

Available exclusively in four-seater coupé guise, the Cayenne Turbo GT Coupé, Porsche says, was “consistently set up for maximum performance and handling” and “combines outstanding driving dynamics with a high degree of everyday usability”. The Cayenne GT Coupé’s twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 petrol engine (the most powerful V8 in Porsche’s arsenal) produces 471 kW and 850 N.m, which is 67 kW and 80 N.m more than the Turbo model.

According to the German manufacturer, the increase in power and torque allows for a zero to 100 km/h acceleration time 0,6 seconds quicker than the Turbo. The GT-badged Cayenne Turbo Coupé accelerates to 100 km/h from the line in a claimed 3,3 seconds. Maximum speed, meanwhile, is rated at 300 km/h, which is 14 km/h more than the Turbo.

Linked to the V8 is a faster-shifting eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. For the Cayenne Turbo GT Coupé, Porsche has also modified its traction management system. According to the Stuttgart manufacturer, both the passive chassis components and active control systems have been re-engineered and optimised for handling and performance. As standard, the GT is equipped with, among others, 22-inch GT-design wheels, carbon ceramic composite brakes and sports exhaust system.
