The semi-finalists for the 2023 South African Car of the Year (SA COTY) awards have been announced. So, how were the semi-finalists chosen? Well, the first step in the selection process was determining the eligibility of each vehicle based on COTY rules and regulations. The COTY validation committee reviewed “more than” 80 vehicles, after which it was determined that 55 met the entry requirements. The list of validated vehicles was then presented to the South African Guild of Mobility Journalists (SAGMJ), who voted on which cars were worthy of making the semi-finals. In January 2023, the COTY jury will vote on which of these vehicles deserve their spot in the finals. Here are the semi-finalists per brand (in alphabetical order)…
