Mercedes South Africa has announced pricing and specifications for the EQS 450+ and Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+. See pricing below…

Starting with the 450+, this model ships with Benz’s MBUX multimedia system, incorporating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital instrument cluster. Wireless smartphone charging is present, too, as is ambient lighting. Parking aids are included. An array of airbags are included for safety. The 450+ also gains rear-wheel steering, among many other features. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels.

Among the packages included in the list of options, the 450+ is available with Mercedes’ AMG Line package (R140 000), Driving Assistance package Plus (R31 000), and Night package (R16 000). Benz’s MBUX hyper screen set-up, incorporating an array of functions, is available at an additional R155 000. The latter item comes standard with the EQS 53 4Matic+, as does the Digital Light system, which is an extra R41 000 on the 450+.

As a reminder, the EQS 450+ is equipped with a 107.8 kWh battery. The latter item is coupled with a rear axle-mounted electric motor producing 245 kW and 568 Nm of torque. Benz claims this (rear-wheel-drive) variant accelerated to the three-figure marker from a standstill in 6.2 seconds. Mercedes claims an electric range of between 631 to 782 km.

Equipped with a twin electric-motor arrangement, the EQS 53 4Matic+ (pictured here) sends 484 kW and 950 Nm of torque to all four wheels. This model makes use of the same battery pack as the 450+ derivative. However, here, the battery delivers an electric range between 529 to 586 km.
