Mazda South Africa has finally released the pricing for the all-new Mazda BT-50. Priced from R611 900 to R794 400 (see full pricing below), the local line-up of the Japanese manufacturer’s double-cab bakkie consists of four derivatives, available with the choice of three trim lines and two engine options.

The local Mazda BT-50 line-up is priced from R611 900.

The opening gambit to the local BT-50 range, the 1,9 4×2 Active variant’s (in six-speed manual guise) 1,9-litre turbocharged diesel engine, as previously reported, produces 110 kW and 350 N.m. For R36 000 more, this model can be had with the option of a six-speed automatic transmission. Among others, Active specification level includes items such as a 7,0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a duo of USB ports and a six-speaker sound system, and a manual air-conditioning system. The seats are covered in cloth.

Further included in the list of standard specification for the Active, the BT-50 features cruise control and a reverse-view camera, supplemented by rear parking sensors. A set of 17-inch alloys are standard. Safety items include a total of seven airbags and Isofix anchorages. Hill launch assist, hill descent control, roll over mitigation and trailer sway mitigation conclude the list.

Mazda BT-50
Individual trim features a 9,0-inch touchscreen, complete with screen mirroring.

Next up, the BT-50 3,0 Dynamic is available in only two-wheel drive and, like the top-of-the-line model, with a six-speed automatic transmission, which is linked to a 3,0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 140 kW and 450 N.m. In addition to the standard fitment included with Active specification, Dynamic trim upgrades to a 9,0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an eight-speaker sound system and dual-zone climate control. Dynamic spec further features leather trim for the steering wheel and gearlever, automatic headlamp levelling, rain-sensing wipers and 18-inch wheels.

Setting the range-topping model apart from its lower-tier stablemates, the BT-50 3,0 Individual features four-wheel drive and front axle disconnect.

Locally, the BT-50 is offered with Mazda’s three-year/unlimited km service plan and warranty and road assistance of similar duration and distance.
