Suzuki South Africa has announced it has once again broken its monthly sales record, with the local arm of the Japanese car manufacturer recording a monthly sales figure in September that’s “more than” 600 units more than the figure registered in August 2021.

Suzuki Swift
The top-selling Suzuki for September 2021 was the facelifted Swift.

Suzuki SA sold a whopping 3 134 units in September 2021, earning the firm a top three position in overall vehicle sales in South Africa. This is the first time the company has broken through the 3 000-unit mark in a single month. For reference, in October 2020 the firm broke the 2 000-unit barrier, with a recorded sales figure of 2 032 units.

The Suzuki S-Presso accounted for 504 of the overall units sold.

With total sales of over 3 000 units, Suzuki now represents 7.2 per cent of the South African market, the company’s highest share to date. However, if one were to remove the 82 of the Super Carry units sold in September, then Suzuki represents 10.3 per cent of the passenger vehicle market.

Vitara Brezza
455 Vitara Brezzas found homes in September 2021.

The top-selling Suzuki vehicle for the month of September was the facelifted Swift, with 935 customers signing on the dotted line for the small hatchback. The S-Presso city crossover contributed to the overall sales record with 504 units sold, while the Vitara Brezza found 455 new owners. Recorded sales of the Ertiga amounted to 387 units.

387 Ertigas were sold in the month of September 2021.

“We are ecstatic about the national sales results,” Henno Havenga, manager for auto dealer sales at Suzuki Auto, says. “Virtually every vehicle we were able to deliver to a dealer found a new owner and dealers report many more customers queueing up for their Suzuki passenger vehicle, SUV or Super Carry commercial vehicle.”
