Suzuki Auto South Africa has announced it has again bested its monthly sales record, with the local arm of the firm recording a sales figure of 4 734 vehicles in July 2022, firmly entrenching the brand in the third position of the top-10 best-selling car manufacturers in SA. This amounted to a new market-share record of 14.87 per cent in the passenger-car segment for the company. The carmaker’s local dealer network, comprising 84 dealers, also set a new record with 3 460 vehicle sales.

“The demand for the Suzuki brand has never been this high”

Leading the way in sales, the Swift was again the automaker’s best-selling vehicle. Suzuki SA sold 1 521 units of the Swift in the seventh month of 2022. The Vitara Brezza and new Baleno (read our launch review here) registered 636 and 466 sales, respectively. A total number of 326 units of the Jimny were sold. The recently updated Ertiga found 257 homes. According to Suzuki SA, “All performed well above expectations.”

“The demand for the Suzuki brand has never been this high,” said Henno Havenga, dealer sales manager at Suzuki Auto. “The demand for our vehicles is growing daily as word spreads about our vehicles’ durability and fuel efficiency.

“At the same time, we have tweaked our product offering, adding more value to existing models – such as with the Ertiga – and adding more affordable versions of popular models, such as the Jimny GL manual and auto models.”

“While we celebrate every sale, our focus remains firmly on ensuring that we give every customer the same level of service that we have become known for. This applies to owners of the most affordable S-Presso to fleet buyers who purchase several hundred units at a time,” added Havenga.

Suzuki says, for the year ahead, it will further expand its dealer network to meet customer demands. The company will also introduce new variants to existing model ranges and new models.
