Here’s the list of South Africa’s top five best-selling vehicles in February 2023…
5. Volkswagen Polo Vivo — 1 513
Having not made the list of SA’s top five best-selling vehicles in January 2023, the Polo Vivo reached fifth place in February 2023, with 1 513 people putting pen to paper for the entry-level Polo in the shortest month of the year.
4. Toyota Corolla Cross — 1 683
In February 2023, the Corolla Cross (read our test review of the hybrid model here), with 1 683 units finding new homes, was the best-selling passenger car in SA. Like January 2023, it was also the second-best-selling Toyota on local shores.
3. Isuzu D-Max — 1 747
In January 2023, the D-Max (read our launch review here) placed fifth on the list of SA’s top five best-selling vehicles. However, in the second month of the year, the Japanese brand’s bakkie climbed two spots, registering a 474-units-sold increase (compared to January).
2. Ford Ranger — 1 806
Like the Polo Vivo, February was the first month in 2023 that the Ford Ranger made the list of SA’s best-selling vehicles. And the Blue Oval brand’s bakkie did so in spectacular fashion, achieving the second spot in February 2023. Ford SA sold 1 806 units. (Read our launch review of the new Ranger Raptor here.)
1. Toyota Hilux — 3 335
Last month, the Hilux again topped the list of SA’s best-selling vehicles. Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) – the best-selling car brand in SA in February 2023 – sold 566 more Hilux units in February than in January 2023. The total Hilux sales figure is also 1 529 more than the second vehicle on this list.
