In June 2023, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) once again claimed the top spot as South Africa’s best-selling automaker (see the list here), with the local arm of the Japanese manufacturer selling 13 016 new vehicles in the sixth month of the year. The Hilux, of course, remained TSAM’s top-seller, with a total of 3 792 new units sold, making it the best-selling vehicle in SA in June 2023. But how many units of each body style — double cab, extra cab and single cab — were sold? Let’s look at the figures…
HOW MANY OF EACH HILUX BODY STYLE WERE SOLD IN JUNE 2023
Well, with 1 886 examples finding new homes, the double-cab model was the best-selling Hilux body style for TSAM. At the same time, 1 391 single-cab models left showroom floors. In June 2023, TSAM sold 515 extra-cab units. As a result, Toyota Hilux sales accounted for 29 per cent of TSAM’s total new-vehicle sales figure.
