Citroën has announced that the “ultra-limited” My Ami Buggy has sold out in less than 18 minutes. The exact time? All 50 units were sold in 17 minutes and 28 seconds, with the fastest customer completing the purchasing “journey” in only 2 minutes and 53 seconds. 


The French firm says “almost” 1 800 people expressed their desire to purchase the exclusive edition when it was unveiled. “The public reacted enthusiastically when we presented [the] My Ami Buggy Concept, and many customers asked for it.”

“It allows the driver and passenger to feel freer”

According to the Poissy-based brand, “The special-edition Ami embodies the spirit of adventure and the fun of flaunting your style with complete freedom.” The limited iteration is derived from the concept. It features metal tubes for doors and a removable canvas roof. The car is fitted with 14-inch wheels, finished in a golden hue. The exterior is dressed in a khaki shade. 

“Without a door, with a convertible roof, My Ami Buggy allows the driver and passenger to feel freer and take full advantage of silent driving in electric mode,” said Laurence Hansen, product and strategy director at Citroën.

The interior features yellow touches. Citroën says these finishes emphasise the practical side of certain functional accessories such as storage bins, bag hooks and opening straps. This hue has also been used for the details on the floor mats. The seats are trimmed in technical fabric.
