The facelifted Land Rover Discovery has landed in South Africa. Priced from R1 452 700, the revised range features bolder exterior styling, an updated interior, upgraded technologies and a pair of new powertrains. See full pricing for the local line-up below…
The most distinguishable exterior updates made to the Discovery come in the shape of a revised front bumper, flanked by new LED headlamps featuring updated daytime-running lights, and new gloss black panel between the taillamps. The most notable updates, however, can be found inside, where the redesigned facia features a 11,4-inch touchscreen incorporating Jaguar Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment software and smartphone integration.
Standard throughout the range, the facelifted Discovery comes with air suspension and adaptive damper technology. Further included in the list of standard specification are Land Rover’s configurable Terrain Response 2 off-road driving modes and ClearSight ground view tech.
Powering the updated Discovery line-up, a pair of new 3,0-litre inline six-cylinder Ingenium engines – the P360 turbopetrol, which feature 48 V mild-hybrid tech and the D300 turbodiesel – produce 265 kW and 500 N.m (P360), and 221 kW and 650 N.m (D300). According to the Coventry manufacturer, the P360 variant is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 6,7 seconds. The D300, meanwhile, accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 6,8 seconds.
