The refreshed Renault Duster has touched down on South African shores, with the updated model boasting a “bold” personality, “next-level” styling, and “high-end” equipment. According to the local arm of the French firm, the Duster range is now “even better” equipped to be a strong contented within its segment. See pricing below…
The revised Duster is distinguished from the pre-facelift derivative by an array of new exterior elements. These include updated C-shaped front and LED rear light signatures, a “prominent” rear spoiler, and newly designed, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Seven body colours are on offer: Comet Grey, Highland Grey, Iron Blue, Brown Vision, Fusion Red, Arizona Orange, and Ice White.
Inside, the Duster features a new, eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and on-board sat-nav; wireless smartphone charging; and an “enhanced” 4×4 monitor. Climate control is included.
The front pews sports newly designed headrests. The rear bench offers a duo of split-fold functionalities. According to Renault, the luggage capacity measures 478 litres. Safety items include rear park distance control, ABS with EBD and EBA, and hill start assist.
The updated Duster is powered by Renault’s 1.5 dCi turbo engine. Coupled to a manual gearbox, the 4×2 variant produces 66 kW and 210 N.m of torque. Renault claims this model sips only 5.1 L/100 km.
The 4×2 EDC variant is endowed with 80 kW and 250 N.m, while the all-paw, manual model boasts 80 kW and 260 N.m. According to the French carmaker, these models return an average fuel consumption figure “from only” 4.8 L/100 km.
Standard across the range, all models feature Renault’s three-year/45 000 km service plan. A five-year/150 000 km mechanical warranty and six-year anti-corrosion warranty are included.
