INEOS Automotive has released a video of seven-time Formula One World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, with INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the passenger’s pew, giving the Grenadier “a no holds barred” shakedown on- and off-road. Watch the video below…
“I don’t think anyone has ever driven it like Lewis drove it”
“I’m genuinely enjoying driving this car,” said Sir Lewis, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team (to whom INEOS is a principal partner) driver. “It’s very comfortable considering some of the huge dips we were driving down… I was pretty much flat-out around the course. I’m massively surprised at how much grip there is.”
Sir Jim said: “The Grenadier was designed to be good off-road, but we didn’t know it was going to be as good as it is on the road. I can definitely say I don’t think anyone has ever driven it like Lewis drove it.”

As a reminder, the INEOS Grenadier is available with two BMW-sourced, 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engines, each powertrain coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The B57 twin-turbocharged diesel unit produces 183 kW and 550 Nm of torque. The B58 turbocharged petrol motor is endowed with 210 kW and 450 Nm of torque. Locally, the firm’s 4×4 will be available in three guises: the entry-level Station Wagon model and a duo of higher-specced variants, the Trialmaster Edition and Fieldmaster.
