In collaboration with Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team, Girard-Perregaux has introduced the Laureato Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition.
“From the outset, working with Aston Martin has been a joy. It has not just been a case of putting our name on a Formula One car. On the contrary, we have collaborated on various projects, resulting in the production of two very different watches,” said Patrick Pruniaux, Girard-Perregaux’s CEO.
“We sought to work closely with the F1 side of the brand”
“Working together has led to some innovative and exciting ideas, culminating in creating new exciting products … With our previous collaborative models, the emphasis was on style and elegance. However, with this latest watch, we sought to work closely with the F1 side of the brand, focusing more on the idea of performance.”
Bridging passion with performance, the F1-inspired timepiece’s “cutting-edge” case is crafted from titanium powder and carbon-fibre elements, which were sourced from two Aston Martin F1 race cars used in the 2021 season. The Swiss luxury watchmaker says this is a world-first in horology. The firm further states that each piece looks distinct thanks to the high-tech manufacturing process.
Housed within the 44 mm case is the La Chaux-de-Fonds-based brand’s GP03300-1058 calibre. The movement is displayed through a transparent, sapphire crystal case back.
“Girard-Perregaux is a valued partner to our organisation. We have worked together to share and combine our knowledge to improve each other’s brands. The new Laureato Absolute Chronograph AMF1 … [is] a stunning example of the work we can achieve together,” said Mike Krack, Aston Martin F1 team principal.
