Limited to only 1 000 examples, Land Rover Classic, in partnership with Elliot Brown, has released an exclusive watch inspired by the British marque’s latest Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II. Like Land Rover Classic’s new re-engineered Defender, the “highly desirable” timepiece pays tribute to the legacy of global Land Rover expeditions.

Elliot Brown

Based on the Elliot Brown Holton Professional, the watch was designed alongside the Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II. Like the vehicle, it features an “expedition-inspired” camouflage. This design is carried over to the dial, where “high-grade” SuperLuminova illuminates to glow white, ice blue and pale green. As with the limited-run Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II line-up, each watch features hidden silhouettes of old and new Defender series Land Rovers.

The dial is housed in a 316L marine-grade stainless steel case. The latter item is coupled with a rubber strap. Inside, a Swiss Ronda calibre 715 movement keeps time.

“The latest Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II was a hugely exciting project to work on, and we’re delighted to see our creative elements incorporated into the Land Rover Trophy Expedition watch,” said the managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Michael van der Sande.

“Land Rover has been involved with global expeditions for more than seven decades. This partnership with official timekeeper Elliot Brown helps us celebrate our history with a unique, desirable, tough watch that echoes everything our Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II is about.”

Priced at £595 (R11 995.77), the watch is available from elliotbrownwatches.com. However, in addition to this timepiece, the 25 fortunate enough to have put pen to paper for the recently-unveiled Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II are offered with a “unique” Competitor’s Edition.
