Finished in bright racing colours, the stylish new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronographs express the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s love for speed, adrenaline, and bold design. The La Chaux-de-Fonds-based brand says the new novelties “will immediately stand out on the wrist of lovers of edgy watchmaking who expertly mix high performance and daring style”.

Sporting fine-brushed 43 mm stainless steel cases, the box-fresh pieces carry on the legacy of the race car livery colours established in the Interwar era, indicating the nation of origin of the car, its driver, or its team. The hues include British Racing Green, Or for yellow and gold, and Rosso Corsa Italian red.

“These traditional colours officially ruled the track until the 1970s, but they are still omnipresent today – flags, lights, track markings, team liveries… they make up the enduring palette of this thrilling sport,” said the company.

The latest additions to TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 line-up features updated design cues, making each piece “assertive” and “fun”. Each model sports contrasting colours and subtle unique details. The screw-down steel case back reveals a checkered flag motif.

In addition, each piece features slightly different details. On the green edition, the indexes and hands are black, the central hand is lacquered white, and the chronograph sub-counters are circled in red. On the yellow edition, the indexes are black, the hours and minutes hands are black, and the central hand is lacquered red. The red edition’s indicators and indexes are rhodium-plated, while the main hand is lacquered white, and the chronograph sub-counters are circled in white. Matching rubber straps are also present.

The case houses a luminous sunray brushed dial with three “azurage” chronograph sub-counters, which add texture, depth, and light effects. The angled date window is positioned at 4 o’clock, and the contrasting hands and indexes are coated with white Super-LumiNova “for excellent legibility at high speed”.
