TAG Heuer recently released a duo of new Monaco watches (remember the Monaco Original Blue and Racing Red variants?). However, in addition to these skeletonised models, the Swiss luxury watchmaker introduced a third, more avante-garde piece to the line-up. Meet the Monaco Luminous Turquoise …

Turquoise

The Monaco Luminous Turquoise’s — Ref. CBL2184.FT6236 — square-shaped case is crafted from grade 2 titanium, replete with black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The 39 mm item features a fixed titanium bezel and crown fashioned from the same hard-wearing, lightweight material. The sand-blasted black dial is displayed through sapphire crystal, as are the skeletonised movement’s custom column wheel and oscillating mass (visible through the transparent case back).

Whereas the Original Blue (ref. CBL2182.FT6235) and Racing Red (ref. CBL2183.FT6236) featured blue accents (reminiscent of the original Monaco blue dial) and subtle red highlights, respectively, this derivative sports luminous turquoise touches, which have been applied to the indices and sub-dials (sited at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock markers). Adding a sporty touch to the watch, the seconds and sub-dial hands have been finished in vibrant, lacquered red. A day window can be found at 6 o’clock.

Monaco Luminous Turquoise is equipped with the La Chaux-de-Fonds-brand’s Calibre Heuer 02 Automatic movement. The self-winding chronograph unit offers a power reserve of 80 hours. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

The watch is presented on a mixed rubber-and-leather strap, replete with a black DLC-coated folding clasp featuring push buttons. Monaco Luminous Turquoise is priced at R233 000. For more information visit TAG Heuer’s website.
