JATO Dynamics, a global automotive business intelligence supplier, has released a report indicating the world’s best-selling passenger vehicles in 2022. However, it’s worth noting that the firm has included bakkies, which, locally, are regarded as light-commercial vehicles, on the list.
But before we get to the list (see it below), let’s do a breakdown… Which manufacturer had the most vehicles on the list? Toyota. Indeed, according to the report, in 2022, the Japanese automotive giant again led the way as the world’s best-selling OEM. A total of five Toyotas can be found in the top 10. The carmaker with the second most vehicles on the list is Tesla, with two models, the only EVs on the list, from the electric-vehicle manufacturer making the list.
Speaking about the US company, Felipe Munoz, Global Analyst at JATO Dynamics, said, “It is a historic moment to see a pure electric vehicle not only so close to the top position but a relatively new brand getting so far in the global ranking, particularly given they are not the most affordable vehicles.”
The remaining carmakers were Ford, Honda and Nissan. All of these brands had one vehicle on the list.
So, which 10 vehicles were the world’s bestsellers? Here’s the list of each and how many were sold.
